1. In 1804, Vice President Aaron Burr was indicted for murder in New Jersey. Burr had killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel the previous year, and although dueling was illegal in both New York and New Jersey, he was only charged in New Jersey. Burr was ultimately acquitted of the charges.

2. The first college football game played in New Jersey took place on February 11, 1882, when Princeton University defeated Rutgers University by a score of 6-4. This game is often considered to be the first ever intercollegiate football game.

3. On February 11, 1903, the New Jersey State Legislature passed a bill allowing women to serve on juries. New Jersey was the first state in the nation to grant women this right.

4. The Garden State Parkway, a major highway that runs throughout much of New Jersey, was officially opened on February 11, 1952. The parkway, which is 172.4 miles long and stretches from the New York State line to Cape May in South Jersey, is one of the busiest toll roads in the United States.

5. On February 11, 2015, two former aides to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie were indicted for their involvement in the "Bridgegate" scandal. The aides, Bridget Kelly and Bill Baroni, were charged with conspiracy, fraud, and civil rights violations for their role in orchestrating lane closures on the George Washington Bridge in 2013 as a form of political retribution against a mayor who refused to endorse Christie's reelection bid.
