4. Teddy Roosevelt visits Vermont: On July 5, 1912, former president Theodore Roosevelt visited Brattleboro, Vermont, where he delivered a speech from the balcony of the town hall. Roosevelt was campaigning for the presidential election and his visit drew a large crowd of supporters.

Vermont celebrates Independence Day: Since 1783, Vermont has celebrated Independence Day on July 4th and 5th with parades, fireworks, and traditional activities such as picnics, fairs, and concerts. July 5th is often referred to as "The Fifth" and commemorates the day when Vermont was admitted to the Union.
