1. On July 7, 1933, Oklahoma City became the first city in the world to implement parking meters. The meters were invented by Carl C. Magee in response to the city's growing traffic congestion.

3. July 7, 1985, marked the deadliest day in Oklahoma's history when a flash flood hit the town of Kanawha. Twenty-two people, including 14 children, were killed in the disaster.

5. In 2015, a massive sinkhole opened up in Guthrie, Oklahoma, on July 7, swallowing a section of Lake Road and a pickup truck. The sinkhole was caused by the collapse of an underground salt mine and measured 40 feet wide and 30 feet deep.
