1. In 1876, the town of Buffalo was established in Johnson County. Named after a nearby creek, Buffalo became an important stop on the Bozeman Trail and served as a center for cattle ranching.

2. On March 24, 1898, the famous Wyoming lawyer and politician, John W. Lacey, passed away in Cheyenne. Lacey was the first person to be elected to the United States Congress from Wyoming as a Democrat and went on to serve as the Governor of the Wyoming Territory.

3. In 1900, the grand opening of the historic Occidental Hotel in Buffalo took place. The hotel was designed to accommodate cattle ranchers and businessmen who were traveling to Johnson County for the booming cattle industry.

4. On March 24, 1913, Wyoming became the first state in the United States to pass a law giving women the right to vote. This historic milestone in American history paved the way for other states to follow suit.

5. In 1927, the Wyoming Golden Gloves Association was established in Sheridan. The association was responsible for organizing boxing tournaments across the state, and many famous boxers such as Gene Tunney and Jack Dempsey took part in Wyoming tournaments.
