1. On November 10, 1898, Eugene Talmadge was born in Forsyth, Georgia. Talmadge went on to become a Democratic Party politician who served as the Governor of Georgia for three non-consecutive terms.

2. On November 10, 1928, Avondale High School in DeKalb County, Georgia opened its doors for the first time. The school was built to serve students in the rapidly-growing suburbs of Atlanta, and still operates today as Avondale High School.

3. On November 10, 1958, the Georgia State Capitol building was officially dedicated in Atlanta. The building was designed by New York architect Paul Heffernan and features a gold leaf-covered dome which rises 273 feet above the ground.

4. On November 10, 2001, Georgia Tech football player Kelly Campbell set a school record for career receiving yards in a game against the University of Maryland. Campbell caught nine passes for 223 yards and two touchdowns, bringing his career total to 3,065 receiving yards.

5. On November 10, 2014, the Atlanta Falcons beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27-17 in a Monday Night Football game at the Georgia Dome. The win moved the Falcons into a first-place tie in the NFC South division, and was quarterback Matt Ryan's 41st career home victory.
